Hanford
Semper K9 is proud to announce the acceptance of Hanford into our Service Dogs for Veterans Program. Hanford is an English Lab donated by Sliding G Ranch and named in memory of US Army veteran Earl “Hank” Hanford, Jr.
Earl “Hank” Hanford, Jr was born January 21, 1930, in Danbury, CT. Hank was a Veteran of the Korean War, proudly serving with the United States Army in Germany as a Sergeant in the Intelligence Division. He worked as a letter carrier for the United States Post Office for almost forty years. Upon retirement, he enjoyed working for Meals on Wheels.
He was a member of the First Congregational Church where he served as an usher for many years. He was also a member of the Newtown Country Club, Polish American Club, the National Association of Letter Carriers, the Concordia Club, and the Local 677 Teamsters Union. Hank passed away at his home in Danbury in February 2016.
