Our Programs
Every Semper K9 program serves the same mission: to enhance the quality of life for wounded members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families by providing them custom-trained mental health mobility service dogs. Using rescued and donated dogs, Semper K9 provides service dogs for psychiatric alert and mobility challenges free of charge to disabled American veterans across the country.

Semper K9’s Programs
Mental Health & Mobility Service Dogs
Fully trained service dogs assist a service member with a visible or invisible disability every day for 5-7 years, bringing calm to veterans with PTSD and performing at least three disability-mitigating tasks.
Service Dog Maintenance Training
Graduates of our program receive maintenance training free of charge, and we also offer local maintenance training for handlers and their K9 partners.
Facility Dogs
Facility dogs work at the side of a professional caregiver, health care practitioner, or therapist to engage veterans in activities that stimulate healing and recovery.
Family Integration Program
A personalized coaching program that helps military families manage the challenges of bringing a service dog into the home, resulting in stronger, healthier relationships.
Prison Training Program
Approved by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, our program partners with approved inmates at FCI McDowell and FPC Alderson in West Virginia to help train service dogs for disabled veterans.
Family Support Dogs
Family support dogs bring comfort and unconditional love to seriously ill or confined veterans, enhancing quality of life for service members and their families.
Community Education
Presented at no charge to schools, civic organizations, businesses and government agencies, this program builds assistance dog and disability awareness and shows the impact service dogs have on wounded veterans.
