At Semper K9 Assistance Dogs, every service dog’s name carries a meaningful story rooted in service, dedication, and community impact. Ginnie, a beautiful Golden Retriever and German Shepherd mix generously donated by Cassie Wood, is named in honor of Virginia “Ginnie” Sebastian Storage, a respected leader, patriot, and advocate for preserving American history and supporting communities across the nation.
Virginia “Ginnie” Sebastian Storage has dedicated much of her life to leadership, service, and honoring the legacy of those who came before us. Born and raised in Fredericksburg, Virginia, Ginnie developed a strong commitment to community service from an early age. She earned the prestigious Girl Scout Gold Award and was actively involved in the Children of the American Revolution, reflecting a lifelong passion for civic engagement and patriotism.
A graduate of the University of Virginia with a bachelor’s degree and later earning her MBA from Averett University, Ginnie built a successful professional career in administration and human resources leadership while also devoting herself to numerous historical and patriotic organizations.
Ginnie is perhaps best known for her leadership within the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). A member of the Washington-Lewis Chapter NSDAR, she served in numerous national leadership positions before becoming the 47th President General of the DAR in June 2025. In this role, she has continued promoting historic preservation, education, and patriotism nationwide.
Throughout her years of service, Ginnie has championed projects supporting historical preservation, military remembrance, and civic responsibility. Her leadership has helped raise significant support for preserving American history and honoring the sacrifices made by generations of Americans.
